wow this week was really good. we were able to have some good experiences her in Seogwipo.

momday we had area meeting with the elders and then we realixed that we werent going ot have time to meet one family so we decided to go right them adn just randomly visit this person. so we all made the trip there and when we got there it seamed like they werent going ot amswer so we went around the hose to the back door adn knocked and a man opened he door adn invited us in. this man wasnt the person we wanted to visit. the person we wanted was a less active man that apparently lives in Seoul. but this was his father and he isnt a member so we were able to go in adn talk to this man and then his wife adn we were ablet o teach them a lesson and we offered them a book of mormom but they alread had one and they even had the April Conference Lihaona so taht was really cool i howp that we will get to meet them again! we might get to help them on their farm!

Tuesday we were ablet o meet a less active sister that works/owns a cafe. she was so nice and gave us our drinks for free adn then as we were talking wiht her she gave us some cake for free so that was really nice! this sister is super nice and i hope that we will be able to help her adn her whole family come back to church. we also went ot visist another less active with the elders but the less active  wasnt home so that was sad.

wednesday we were ablet o have disrtict meeting! ahh i really love it! i was able to learn so much. Sister Kim had to give a korean lesson. taht was really good hwe taught about the comon mistakes that forigners make when speaking korean so that was really good for all of us to see how we can improve! after we went and did servive again. we got to work on the halla bong farm of one of the members (they are just the big oranges) it was good we were able to get a lot done for them adn it was pretty fun being in the trees! i cant wairt for them to get ripe so we can eat them!! hahaha after that we went to the Branch Presidents house (he lives really really far away!!) but it was really goofo her tool us and the elders to dinner. oh wow it was  a really really good dinner!!!!! it was these huge cuts of meat that you put on a  grill in the middle of the table and cook it yourself. wow it was really good meet.he had us eat somuch!!! i think that each on eof us there had to eat our won huge piece of meat!! but ti was really good adn just when i thoought i was full he orders rice adn soup for us!! so yeah Koreans really do show their love thought giving you food!! haha

Thurday we were able;t o to do weekly planning and then we went o change my adddress but when we go there thye said that i didnt have the right papers and that i needed some other things. adn it was really hard because i couldn treally undestand them adn then Sister Kim had to re explain it to me in more simple korean... so it was still hard to understand.. but we eventually decided to call one of the office elders and he was able to find the right papers so we can go try again later! then we went and had another service activity for amember picking up trash. then they fed us what is called mud fish soup.... yeah sounds gross right... but i was able to eat it... that family is really awesome! they are really nice and when we were sharin our message there was tewo other families from the branch that showed up so we were able to talk to them too! so taht was good!

Friday we were able to do waht we call "chace 전도" or chace proseliting we were able to talk to a lot of people adn were able to give out two book of mormons so taht was really cool we were able to also teahc a lot of short lessons adn also get some contacts! it was a really successfull day we also were able to go visit a famly that we invited to church adn we were able to play a game with them and tach a very short lesson. they are really cute kids i really like them a lot!!!

Saturday we were ablet ohave a very small english class!! theyre were two people that came... yeah iti was intersting.. after english class we went o Jeju city so that we could have interviews with president. it  was really good i was able to learn so much from him and he was able to really helpo me he is a very smart man! after interviews we ate chicken alfrado.. it was really goos an good reminder of home! haha we also were able to have a fireside tjat was focused on family! we watched a video that talked about how we onley have so much tim eon earth and thas we need ot spoend time ith our family. i Really liked hte meeting i was able to learn a lot an dfee of the real importanc eof family!

Sunday we were able tohave the family come to church ti was kind of crazy having to watch the 4 kids adn try adn keep them entertained the whole time i was really glad that church is only tow hours her becausethey would nt have made it the 3 hours! haha we wer able to finish weekly pannin and alos hav an area meetin gfo rth enext week. it was a really good day.

First week of Whitewashing Seogwipo!!!! October 12, 2015

WOW ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE!!!! this week was full of so many good things!!! Monday we took a plane to the island and then had to take a really long bus ride to our home! it was so much fun! what an adventure!! It was pretty crazy butu we were able to talk to one persnon right off the plane and get her number so that was really awesome and then the taxi ride to our hose we were ablet o have a brief lesson with him and give him a book of mormom. that was really good to se that we were going ot be okay here! haha

Tuesday we were able to get more settled\ted into our home adn also go shopping! that was good our house had hardly anything so we had to get some food for the week! After that we met the elders and they showed us how to get to the church.... its a 45 minute walkt form our house to the church!!!! ahhh so far! btu when we got htere it was relaly cool the church is super close to the ocean!!! wehn we look out the window we can see th eocean so we got to go over and look at it and them we were introduced to the area by the elders. it was also kind of hard for them because they were whitewashed in just one transfer before us adn the other elders that were here got taken out so its kind of and adventure for all of us! After we got home we called all of the members adn intorduced ourselves! we actually were able to set an appointment us for the next day with on e of them so taht was realy nice!

wednesday we went to Jeju city to have district meeting. it is such a long bus ride!!! and we had to be there earlly so that we could watch the womens meeting of general confernce! that was really good i was able to see it in english adn Sister Kim was able to watch it in Korean. It was a really good district meeting we were able to set goal sall together soi it will be reallycool to see all of us work hard ot goet there! after the meeting we traveled adn came back for the meeting with the member it was really good they werea  realy nice family the mother is active but the daughter is less active so we want ot try and get her to come to church. They were really nice! after that we met wiht the elders adn alos with the District President (like the Stake President) adn we were able to mave dinner with him adn get to know  more about hte area!

Thurday we had a service activity with one of the members. he owns a farm that has oranges and little manderan oranges so we were able to go there adn help him cut back the trees it was really fun we they will be really fun to help harvest later!!! haha then we wathced the elders help him with some other work. we were kind of stuck there!!!

Friday we met with the same lessactive from the other day it was good they fed us lunch. that wasreally nice of them! after we met iwht the elders again and went ot visist a member adn his non member mother but they ended up not being homeso that was sad. we also went and introduced ourselves ot a less active sister taht was really nice!! we went  and visiteed anothter family that is kind of investigating the church they are a really poor family so that was sad to see. we were ablet o get osme really pretty pictures on our dinner time! ahh its os pretty here!!!!

Saturday we wathcherd general confernce! ahhh it was so good i was ablet o learn so much!! I really liked all of the talks i relaly liked elder Cooks talk i was able to learn  a lot from him. after confernce we went ot visit some there people that are less actives. itiwas kind of hard to find their house.. we accidently knocked on the wrong door like 3 times!!! hahaha oops! but when we met with thhem thye had heard some bad things about our church adn sid that we didnt believe in God adn Christ so taht was a arelaly sad meeting but hopefully in time we will be abelto help.

Sunday we got to watch the sest of confernce. it was really good i really liked the talk that was directed to the sisters adn i was able to see that by me being on a mission right now i am building the foundation that i need i order to have a stonget family later! we alo go to do some elglish class finding,... there wasnt very many people that were interestied to that was sad! we also were able to meet a formere investigator . she was reallly nice but it was hard because she really really liked the sister she first met but maybe we will be able to help her!

Ahh i love it here i am learning os much!! both Korean and about missionaary work! I have seeen an improvemnt inmy korean becaus i hav eot speak it all the time with Sister Kim. She is the nicest person i have ever met and i really love bein gwith her! She is always os kind oto everyone! I really look forward to the rest of the transfer!

The Hawaii of Korea!!!! October 4, 2015

Well this week was a very eventful week!! This week was transfer

calls!!! so on thursday night they call all of the people that are

leaving and tell them where they will be going and who their companion

will be.. so I was expecting a call because I have been in ShinJeong

for a long time. so when we recieved the call i answered and they made

a big deal about it and then they told me taht i would be going to a

place that is surrounded by water..... They also told me that i would

be opening a new area for sisters (white washing) and then they

finally said that i would be going to Jeju island and in the city of

Seogwipo 서귀포!!! ahh and i wil have a korean Companion! her name is

sitster Kim YehJe 김예지 i dont really know her very much but it wil be

good! I am really excited! I will have to fly on  a plane to the

island so will be gong there at like 7;20 pm today. ahhh it will be

such a different experience!! I will have to learn so much! It will be

really good! I will really really really miss this area but i will

also really like my next one!

So about the week!! monday was a different day we only had a short

pday but it was good we didnt have FHE because of the holiday but we

were able to do some english prosliting it was good but really slow

not a whlole lot of people talked to us so that was kind of hard.

Tuesday we had the mission 5K/10K so we went to Busan for the day!! It

was so much fun! I did the 5k. ahh i stil really dont like running!!

haha but it was fun because i was able to talk to one of the korean

sisters that was really nice. we were able to have a really fun time

and they even fed us hamburgers and hot dogs so it was a very americam

meal it was so good but they added in the tpouch of kroean with

breaded sweet potatoes and some rice cake! haha it was really good!

after htat we played games and just had fun! we also had english

class! it was good there was a good amount of people that came so i

twas fun.

Wednesday we had district meeting ahh i really love it! Ilove being

able to learn from the other missionaries i have really felt my

tetimony grow because of it. We went o eat lunch after and it was

really good there is one elder that is so funny we were alll laughing

so hard that we were about ready to cry!! it was really good! After

that we went o visit a member but she wasnt home so we went to visit

another one and she was home and we were able ot share a message and

then she fed us dinner! it was actually really good food! (even though

it was fish!)

Thursday we had service it was good the old people are so fun i like

them. Ahh so when we clear the trays we dup all of the food into a

bucket adn then we have to move it to dump it well as they were moving

it some how it tipped over and all of the food trash went

everywhere!!!! ahh it was so gross!!! after service we were able to

meet sister Haun JeeYoung she is a less active. iti was good we teahc

her daughters english and its some times really hard becuase one of

the daughters only speaks Chinese.. yeah crazy! but we were able to

see talk to her and get ot know her better She told us that she might

be able to come to church the following week. we also told her that it

might be my last time seeing her... so that was really sad to say

goodbye! after that we came home and cleaned the house really god adn

then waited for the call. and found out that i would be going to the

Hawaii of Korea! so that was crazy we actually recieved a call from

president at like 10:34.. but he told us that he callled the wrong

number... yeah that was scary for sister Cunningham becausue when

presiddent calls htat means that you are going to be training and she

didnt really want ot train... hahaha it was crazy!!!

Friday we were able to get a call form sister cunninghams new

sompanion she will be with sister Cooper she was in the MTC with me.

Then i was able to pack and get all of my stuff ready to mail to

Jeju... korea is really awesome and has a way that you can just mail

all of oyu luggage so its really nice that i dont have to worry about

my bags and the plane and all of htat stuff.. we were also able to

meet Kim YoonEh for my last time. it was good she is so cute i love

her so much!

Saturday was good we were ableto have a good weekly planning and get

everything ready for sister Cunningham adn sister cooper. We also met

with the elders to practice a mucical number that we would sin gin

church. it was really good. then we had english class that was really

different because it was my last on in the area so i had to say

goodbye to all of them. But after we had a movie night for the branch

but only a few people came so that was sad but Sister Go YuMin came

AHHHHH i lov here so much! we wathced meet the Mormons adn she really

liked it. It is such a good movie i realy like it an i thought it was

good for Sister Go to see it! After that we went and got McDonalds

with her bacause it was my last night that we could do that with her.

so that was really fun she is so nice she gave me and sister

Cunningham a gift! It was really nice of her!

Sunday was good we had a meeting and hte branch President asked me and

elder smilth to share our testimony becuse we were bith leaving. it

was good whern i shared mine it was very simple but really hard

because ilookked at all of themembers adn realized how much i am going

ot miss them i actually almost started to cry as i looked at Go yuMin

and saw the light that was in her face, icould tell that is wasthe

light of christ that was now continaully in her life. After church i

had to say goodbye to all of them adn it was really sad it was really

hard to say goodbye so Go Yu Min but i will stay in contact with her.

We also were able to meet with Lee Chae Yun she is the high school

student that was really interested. IT was really good to meet her. we

were able to teach a lesson and them she gave me a really aweosme

gift! She was so cute and even wrote me a letter all in english( her

english isnt very good so it was cute to see her try!) I love korea

and i lov this area  i wil really miss it but it willl be good in

Seogwipo too! Ilov emy mission and the things i am learning!

First Real Bible Bash Sept. 28, 2015

Hello everyone!!!
well i had my first real bible bash today! that was preatty crazy! i
dont even know what church it was but these people just stoped us on
the road and asked us a question that i didnt understand so i looked
to sister Cunningham and then they just went off about the passover
and how we need to be baptized and about the sacrament and the
atonement. They were really targeting me in thier questions, I feel
that it was beacuse i dint underatnd them at frist so they thought
that i didnt know the bible. It was really crazy they had me reaad
some scriptures in the bible. we were able to get out becasue it was
going know where. they werent being very nice to us so it was hard.
but it was a good evperence so that the next time that happens i will
know how to handle it better.

so this week was really good i learned os much! its crazy that there
is only one week left in this transfer. it went so fast!! I will
probaby be getting transfered next week. i will find out on thursday
night!

Monday we had FHE and it was good again we played s fun game with a
beach ball adn some rolls of paper it was a mix of soccer and hocky!
haha it was fun! not a whole lot happened on monday so yep.. haha

Tuesday we went to find some less actives it was okay we were able to
find most of the houses but otheres we couldnt. it was the Craziest
part of my area i've seen! we went into what is called 시골 or the
country side! ahh it was so cool! one minute we were on the main road
adn then we would have to take a little path that went winding up in
to the country and up on the hills! It was so weird because the place
we were in looked like it was abandoned but apparently  people live
there!! Also there were some pretty crazy spiders there!!! ahh they
were so gross!!! they were really big yellow and black ones and they
had really really crazy big webs!! i have a picture that i will send.
I actually almost ran into the biggest one we saw just as we were
walking back it was about the size of the palm of my hand adn just
hanging above me! ahhh so scary! Sister Cunningham got a picture of
it. ahh they were so gross!! we also had english class . It was good
but kind of sad becasue there was probably 3 people there. elder Smith
shared a really good message about how even the little things we do
can make a difference. I feel like it might have been ment more fro
the missionaries! haha

Wednesday we had district meeting! it was really good i really learn
so much from the other missionaries! We focuesd on Christlike
attributes. it was really good i was able to see how i can improve! We
had lunch together after it was really good it was pig rice soup!!
(haha korean translation is so funny!) We all got free hand towles
because the place we weent to was new so they were giving out gifts!
we also o tto go visit sister park Jeehyun (the taekwondo lady) it was
so good she is the cutest lady i have ever met! it was a really short
vist but it was good Sister Cunningham was able to get ot know her a
little better. We also got to visit a member and play with her kids
adn talk to them. It was really good this member needs some love so we
were able to meet here and show our love! They showed us lov eback by
giving us some fruit and some other random snacks! oh it rained a lot
today so we had to walk in the rain adn got really wet!

Thursday we had service! it was kind of crazy because there was a lot
of pople then so we had to worry about helping all of them. But it was
good they had a tradidional Korean soup that is basically just rice
cake and broth them some other stuff. it was good but they always feed
us so much!!! haha We did weekly planning for the last week of the
transfer so that was preatty crazy!! we planned to meet with a less
active but she had to cancel because she wasnt going to be home. So
htat was sad but we were able to get a lot of stuff done for the next
week!

Friday was a really different day!!! There is  a lady that is friends
with sister Cunninghams grandma that is Korean that is in korea for
some time so she wanted to meet with us so we had to plan and figure
out how ot meet them and where to eat. we had an appointment with
Sister Kim Yuneh (a long time less active) so we had to move her back
but then the woman we were meeting decided to invite Sister Kim to eat
with us so we invited her and she said she would come so that was
exciting! we went and met with all of them and ate SO MUCH FOOD!!! but
it was really good we had Shabu Shabu. After we met with all of them
we went with Sister Kim to her house to have a lesson. It was a good
lesson we were able to talk to her and reallu see the things that she
needed. Sister Kim is sucha a nice person i really love her So it
makes it hard to see that she has so many doubts and doesnt let the
truth into her  heart! After meeting with her we did some prosiliting
we werent able to find very many people but it was good!

Saturday was the start of the Korean Holiday called Chuseok (추석) its
very simmilar to thanksgiving so they eat a llot of food and bow to
their ansestors. Its a really big holiday. We decided to make all of
the members little handouts with a scripture so we did that. we also
had english class and we actually had pople come!! it was good I was
really supprised that peopl came even though it was a holiday! After
elgish we did some elglish class prosiliting with the elders. we were
able to get some people that might want to come to class! I also had
to make sure that i had my talk ready for church the next day! (yeah i
had to give a talk!)

Sunday was the offical day of chuseok so church was really different!
we went backwards and had young woments first then sunday school then
sacrament meeting. When church was supposted to start there was
littlerally us 4 missionaries and one other lady that wasnt a menber
of our branch but then the Priedeman family came adn we were able to
have the young womens and sunday school with them. It was really good!
I love being able to listen to the gospel in english every once and a
while! I was able to learn so much from them. they are an amazing
family i dont want to leave them!! Sacrament meeting was good there
wasnt very many people there.. actually i think there was more
visitors than members of our branch! haha but it was reallly good I
had to give a talk..... yeah that was really scary!!! I spoke about
obedience and why its important. i think it was okay but it was really
scary. Ahh i was trying to say that i was thankful for the opportunity
to serve in this branch but when i got to that part i coulnt remember
the work for opportunity! AHHH so i had to say it in english but they
were able to understand becuse the ppeople that knew english were able
to wisper it around the room!! hahaha yeah and then as soon as i ended
adn was going to my seat i remembered the word!!! AHHHH yeah it was
fun. After church we went to a mebers house and ate some Traditional
Korean ChuSeok food then helped them move some tables. It was good to
actually be able to serve them. Then we went with the elders down town
to do some prosiliting before our next appointment. we were able to
talk to a lady and give her a book of mormon! it was really good i
hope that she reads it adn will call us later( we werent able to get
her number so sad!) the next appointmet we had was with the Priedeman
family the elders and 4 other missionaries in another area. It was
really good!! I love the Priedeman family so much! we had a potato bar
for dinner!  it was so good! then we played some really fun games and
we were able to talk about some of the ways that we could see
improvement in the area. then we were also able to watch Pesident
uchdorffs talk from the sisters meeting! ahhh it was so good!!! I
really loved being with that family. they are such an amaxing family i
really love them! Brother Priedeman teared up as he tlod us that he is
proud of us and that our families love us. It was really special!

I really love my mission and being a part of helping this work move
along! I am loving every minute that i am here! I know that God is
blessin me as i am on my mission! I am so thankful for all of you and
the support that you all give to me. I hope you all have a great week!

Change the Mission Culture Sept. 21, 2015

Hello! wow this week went so fast! There was a lot fo good things that
happened as well.
Monday was really good i talked a little about it a little last week
but we were able to have FHE after and it was really good! Its so fun
to be able to be with the families and get to know them better.
Tuesday we went to look for less actives we were able to find all of
the houses but we think that they either moved or that they just didnt
want to answer the door. It was good though we were able to see more
of the Korean towns it was good even though we werent able to find the
lkess actives. We also had english class that was good but not very
many people came so that was sad!
Wednesday was reallly good we were able to have Zone meeting! ahh it
was a really good chance to learn from the other missionaries! I
really liked learnign how i can improve we were ablet ot use the topic
from the mission tour adn discuss the things hat we can do to make our
mission a better experience. It was focused on changing the mission
culture I was able to learn so much! after that i went on exhanges in
pohang with sister Ha she is so cute i really like her a lot! We were
able to hava  service activity adn then we visited some of the members
there.It was really good!
Thursday we studied and them visited a less active in that area it was
good. we had to travel a lot to come to exchange back but it was good!
after we exchanged we went to visit Sister Haun GeYeong. she is a less
active we vistied her adn her sister ( her sister isnt a member) it
was really good we were able to teach english and get to know them
better. It wa good! we also met with sister Lee CheUn she is a high
school student adn is suoper cute we were able to have a really good
lesson with her.
Friday we did weekly planning then visited Kim YoonEh she is also a
less active I relaly like her we taught her a good lesson adn talked
with her for a long time she actually made us french toast!! haha that
was really good! WE also met with sister Lee CheUn again she was
really interested and had really studied the pamphlets we gave her it
was a really good lesson I think she will be a reallly good
investigator!
Saturday we did a lot of proseliting. IT was good we were able to talk
to a lot of people and were able to teach some short lessons! we also
had english class that was godo at first we tonlky had two students
that came!! haha but then more came! It was good. I like teaching
english because they are fun people to talk to! haha
Sunday we had Church and Sister Go YuMIn was able to be confermed. It
was a really special experience! Even though it was in Korean adn i
couldnt completly understand it all i was able to feel that it was the
things she needed. she is such an amazing persom i have really learned
alot from her adn the example that she is! We alos were able to have a
lesson with her. She wants to learn about the second comming adn about
the millinum so that will be and adventure to teach the next time!
Especially because i dont even know how to explain it very well in
english!!! haha After church there was the usual lunch and it wa good!
Then we did some prosiliting we were able to talk to one lady for a
while but then all of the sudden she said she had to leave adn asked
for our phone number adn we were abel to get hers. it was a weird
experience!! haha also that night there was a branch party with more
food!!!! yay!! haha it was really good food!! I got to talk with the
Priedeman family alot so that was fun. Its really nice having an
american family in the branch so that i can talk to them.
Today we planned to go to a whale museum with some other missionaries
btu they go there first and it was closed... so yeah that was sad. but
we were also to go shopping today adn get some fun Korean things that
i wil be happy to hav when i go home! I really love korea adn being on
a mission I have really learned so much from the time that ive been
here. It has been such a good experience! Thanks for the support you
all give me!

I'm so happy!!!! Sept. 14, 2015

ahhh this week was so good!!! we were able to see some really amazing
things!!! First off we were able to have a baptism!!!! Sister Go YuMin
got baptized sunday night. It was such a special experience for
everyone. She is so prepared. I was able to teach her from the first
so it was really cool to be able to see the change in her from the
start to now. She has a light around her all the time that others are
able to see. Even though it is hard to communicate with her I feel
that I have a conection wiht her it is a really good feeling! I was
also able to write her a letter in korean that I feel she will like.
It was crazy to see the letter i gave her because it was alll in
Korean!!! adn i could understand it all... ahhh so weird!! haha but it
was a reallly good experience. We were also able to have sister Hurley
come. taht was reallly good because we were the ones that taught her
from the start. We had two really good talks that we were able to feel
the spirit so strong.  we also had two misical numbers they were
really good. it is amazing to see how music can bring the spirit into
the room. She only had to get baptized once so that was good! adn then
we had the branch write letters to her adn were able to give that to
her.  she shared her testimony and the end as well adn it was reallly
good she was able to feel the spirit so strong. I reallly feel that
she will continue to progress.  we also had some snacks after and she
was able to talk with the members adn get to know them better. It was
so good!!! we also gave her a nice BoM and D&C  it was really good!
earlier that day she came to church and after we were able to spend
the day with her adn we were able to watch the restoration video it
was really good i think it helped her understand the restoration a lot
better! Ahhh she is so cute i wish that all of oyou could meet her!!!
hahaha oh also with week we went and got dessert called Bing Su 빙수  it
was really good we were able to have a good time wiht her adn help
both of us get to know her better.

so the week is goin got be short because of time. Monday we had FHE
adn then after there was two members that took us to dinner beacuse
they said that missionaries are always hungry (not true!!!) but they
took us to eat adn they got us the Fish from finding nemo that is the
deep sea fish with the little light!!!!! ahhh crazy right!! I ate that
kind of fish. it was in sauce and was really spicy!!! I had to eat so
much!!!! they made me eat the most of the food because i was sharing
wiht the two mambers adn them the elders and sister cunningham shared
but becasue i was with the members they made me eat the most!!! ahhh
it was so hard!!! haha but im still alive! haha

Tuesday we were planning on getting some of the prep for the baptism
done adn so we went to see the font adn the whole bottom of the floor
was covered in dirt!!!!!! ahhh it was so gross we think the the drain
backed up and got it dirty so we started to clean it adn we had to get
brushes and scrub really hard to try and get it clean it as so bad!!!
but we got the most of the gross stuff off adn then we had english
class. it was good i dont remember what happpened vey well but it was
good!

Wednesday we had Mission Tour!! it was so awesome!!! we had to leave
our house really early to get there on time because it was like a two
hour train ride!! but it was so good i learned a lot! The persome that
came was really good he was really fun adn his wife was really cute
she didnt know english or korean very well because they are from japan
but she taught us how to make lips out of paper adn talked about how
we need to open our mouth. It was really cute!! that basically took
the whole day because of travel adn it was a long meeting but i
learned so much.

Thursady was kind of  a crazy day!!! we had service adn they ran out
of rice!!!! ahhh thats not a good thing here!!! these people need
their rice!! haha so we had to wait fro it to cook for like 15-20
minutes.. yeah it was crazy!!! after service we went with the elders
and a member to eat lunch. it was a reallly good lunch. we were able
to have a good talk with her and i was really thankfun for elder Ha
because he was translating a little for me so when i didnt understand
all of it he would help me. we also met a less active sister that is
new in our area she was reallly nice i think i talked about her last
week but but she was reallly awesome we were able to teach her
children english. but it was kind of hard because one of her daughters
only speaks Chinese!!!!! ahhh so crazy!! this is when i wish that the
small amount of chinese i knew didnt leave my mind when i started to
learn Koean!!! hahaha but it was good the youngest daughter is reallly
cute adn was fun to play with!!! we also had dinner with the Preiedman
family. that was reallly godo we were able to have a good american
dinner!! haha and also talk to them and help them as a family. then we
had an appointment with the senior high school student adn it was
reallly good we were able to teach english adn have a reallly good
lesson with her! She is so cute i reallly like her!

Friday we went and had Bing Su (its like ice crean ans shaved ice but
so much better!!!) with Go YuMin i already talked abpout that but then
we were able to do weekly planning and then we also were able to meet
with the same high school student adn she baught us bubble tea!!! it
was so good! she i sso nice adn the lesson was good too she was
reallly interested in the plan of salvation so we are going to start
there with her. I will be good!

saturday we were able tp get all the big prep for the baptism adn made
sure that we had everything we needed it was a reallly busy adn kind
of stresssul day but we got it all done we also had english class agin
adn after we got the church ready to have church the next day.

Sunday!!!!!!! ahhh it was so good!! other than what i said at the
first there isnt that much to say! ha but we were able to talk to the
branch adn get everything planned for the baptism. We had church and
it was reallly good!! Go YuMin is reallly awesome. she stayed after
church and ate with the branch and then we answeed the questions she
had and decided on a dress for her to be baptized in. then we watched
the video and we also went to the branch presidents house adn ate
dinner with the elders adn Go YuMin then we made sure that wverything
was ready and took lots of pictures.. AHhh it was so good she even
cried at the end because of the spirit it was really aweosme!!!

It was a reallly good week!!! I love Korea I love Go YuMin and i love
Missionary Work!!! have a good week!!!

Mission Tour With Elder Yamashita

Baptism

August 31, 2015

Hello everyone!!! this week was really good! I am so happy that i
stayed in my area we were able to see so many amazing things!!! I
really have learned a lot from Sister Cunningham she is amazing!!!
Monday we planne dot have FHE but no one came..:( so sad but we were
able to talk about the area and I was able to tell about our
investigators ( wow that was hard to spell in english its easieer in
Korean!!!)

Tuesday we planned to visit a less active but because of the rain she
told us not to come... darn!! but we were able to go though and talk
about all of the investigators and the less actives that we visit and
the members. it was really good. we also had english class. that is
always fun we had a newer person come again so we were able to talk to
her and get to know her better and talk about what we do as
missionaries. I

Wednesday we had district meeting!! ahh i love beiong able to learn
form the other missionaries they were able to help me see a lot of
things that i could work on! we also learned osme fun korean phrases.
i learned how to say that my stomach was going to tear. i alos learned
some other things that i cant remember at the time... (appariently i
need to study them more! hahaha) but after that we got lunch it was
good but probaby not my favorie korean food. We also got to meet
Janniy and Darina, Janniy is russian and Darina is half russian and
half korean it was a really good lesson we introduced the plan of
salvation and they seemed interested. we will teach the rest this
week. They are such asweet family I really llike meeting them! we also
went to vist a previous inveestigator it was really good because she
wanted to satrt the familly english program so we will start to teach
english for 30 min then share a message for 30 min it will be really
good i hope that she will have a stronger desire to learn about what
we teach( when missionaries met her before she was really close to
baptism but then her husband passed away adn so she stoped meeting
them yeah sad story) but hopefully we can help her.

Thurdsay we didnt have service... so sad i actually like going to see
the old people there they are so fun!! but we were able to try adn
visit a less active that just had a baby we didnt get to talk to her
so we left a note with a scripture. we also go tot visit Kim yuneh she
is also a less active (ive talked about her a lot) we talked to her
abput Patriachal blessings and she was actually interested. so we hope
that she will have interest and make the change in her life so that
she will be abe to recieve that blessing and guidence that comes from
it. it was a really good day i was able to learn a lot for myself
while helping others!

Friday we were able to meet the Less active that we planned to meet on
tuesday her name is Gwak geehey ( ahhh putting it in english is hard!)
but we helped her brother translate a paper.... that was really
hard!!! but it wa skind of fun. we also shared a message abput God and
abput prayer it was really good. I hope that we can help her more as
we continue to meet her! we also did weekly planning that was good we
were able to plan a good week! I hope that it will go as good as we
plan!

Saturday was SO AMAZING!!!!!! we were able to go to the church and
meet Go yumin to have her BAPTISIMAL INTERVIEW!!!!!  yay!!! ahh she is
such an amazing person i have really grown close to her in the time
that ive been teaching her!! She is so prepared and ready to make the
step of baptism!! Her interview was good adn she passed so she will be
baptized on the 13th of september!!! Ahhh it wil be such a good day
for her! We were able to start to plan for the service adn it will be
a really good day! There might even be one of the elders investigators
that will get baptized that day too!!! ahh it will be so good!! She
said she would come to church as well!! AHhh she is so great! We had
english class after thhat it was good there wasnt as many people that
came but it was still good! we were able to get ice cream after with a
meber that is really sweet. whille we were standing eating our
icecream some drunk men came over and were like "you can speak Korean"
it was funny! we had to leave though becasue they were getting Creepy.
But then we were able to set up the church adn get it realdy for
sacarement meeting. AHHH such a good day!!

Sunday we had PEC and then church Go YuMin came!!!!!! Yay I wasnt
worried that she wouldnt it just amkes me happy when she does come!!
It was a really good meeting Sister Cunningham gave a welcome talk
then we were able to have a lesson with Go YuMin and the elders. We
were able to help her be ecxited for her baptism and then help her
feel more ready for it. We were able to talk about the things that she
needed! She was really cute at helping me and sister Cunnungham in RS
because when we didnt understand she would help us. She also talked
about how she wants to teach her boyfriend about what she has learned!
She wasnt able to stay for the lunch after but she was able to learn a
lot. After church we ate lunch and then went lookin gfor less actives
it wasnt very successful on the less actives but we were able to talk
to some people one person actually had a frind that was Mormon adn
moved to utah or somthing like that. so hopefully the grandma and son
will call us(it was the grandama that we stared to talk to then the
son that knew the mormon) super cool!

Today we had to go to the place to get sister Cunninghams forigener
card renewed so that she could stay in Korea, that took so long!!!!!!
we were there waiting for like 2 and a half Hours!!!!! but we got it
done and were able to get lunch so it was okay. I really love korea an
everyting about being a missionary!!! there are so many things i can
learn! I hope all of you have a good week!

So also this week there was a really funny thing that happened... when
we went to vist the lady that lost her husband we just go to her phone
shop adn her coworkeer was there adn as soon as she saw us the first
thing she said was "how do you say this" then she showed me her phone
and on it was "i dont give a ****" yeah i was really glad that i
stoped myself from saying the rest of it outloud... but we told her
that its a bad word and that we dont say it. but she just kept trying
to say it.. haha so funny! i was glad that she and her co worker were
saying it wrong but it was just funny that it was the first thing she
asked us!! yep thats my funny story.
